Welcome to HeatSmart Bethel

With the endorsement of the Bethel Board of Selectmen Bethel has partnered with PACE to launch the HeartSmart Bethel initiative.

HeatSmart Bethel is an education and outreach program to help residents:

Save money with a basic energy audit

Heat and cool your home on one system that can save money and is better for the environment

Support clean, renewable energy efforts and contribute to Bethel’s leadership in environmental stewardship and conservation

The Town of Bethel Is Working in Partnership with PACE

The Town of Bethel has been working with PACE to bring residents this unique education opportunity. HeatSmart Bethel is designed to help residents better understand their home and the options available to them when it comes to heating and cooling. Bethel has already made strides towards energy efficiency and transitioning to renewable through the various projects of the Energy Conservation Committee. The HeatSmart program is another step in the journey.

Incentives and Assistance for Residents

The HeatSmart program connects you with pre-selected Home Energy Solutions (HES) contractors and Heat Pump specialists that have agreed to help Bethel conduct outreach and education. Residents are entirely free to work with other HES installers ( Call 1-877-WISE-USE / 1-877-947-3873) or to work with other HVAC professionals if they choose.

These selected  professionals are working with Bethel to improve building efficiency and heating and cooling options for residents.

The HeatSmart partners will help you navigate the State incentives program and understand the best heating, cooling, and efficiency options for your home.

And Now, A Few Words from Youth Representative, Amisha Malkani …

Amisha Malkani

As a senior at Bethel High School interested in pursuing home architecture and civil engineering, I am very grateful to be able to work on HeatSmart Bethel. The opportunity to learn about new home technologies as well as work with industry experts and town officials as part of this project has been very inspiring and unforgettable. I truly desire a more sustainable and green future for our town. Geothermal and air-source heating, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 80%, is one step toward this goal. HeatSmart, which is working with our town, is an approachable, educational initiative aimed toward helping residents make the best heating choices for their houses, including geothermal and air-source heating options. I strongly encourage my fellow Bethelites to take advantage of what HeatSmart has to offer.
